We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site, it will not be shared with third parties. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you, and “directory information” (student name, guardian address, guardian contact numbers) provided by your school under their privacy policy, strictly allowing us only to mail and deliver books, and messages about them to the guardian of the household. Students under 18 will never be contacted by Kids Read Now. Student data will never be shared or used for commercial purposes, and any student data provided by an enrolling organization will only be used for educational purposes to deliver services through the Kids Read Now program. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. For initiated contacts through the website for those over 18, we will use your information to respond to the household guardian regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share personally identifiable information of students and their families enrolled in the program with any third party outside our organization, except as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g., to ship an order.
Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via text or email to inform you of changes to this privacy policy, data collection breaches, or the data breach policy. The Kids Read Now LitKits are excluded from portal use and collect no student data.

For guardians over the age of 18, to use the book selection portal at portal.kidsreadnow.org, a user must first log in using the phone number or email address provided to us by your child’s school, and/or complete the registration form issued by your child’s school for participation in the Kids Read Now summer reading program. During registration, a user is required to give certain information (such as name, physical mailing address, and email address). This information is intended for guardians/parents over the age of 18 and will be used to contact you (not your student) about books and reading programs paid for by your school and/or in which you have expressed interest. At your option, you may also provide demographic information for your child (such as gender or age), but it is not required.
This does not apply to schools purchasing Kids Read Now LitKits book bags.
If your child’s school does not provide DIRECTORY INFORMATION for us to deliver books to your home, we request information from you on the form(s) sent home from your child’s school. To receive new, free books to keep sent by mail, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address). This information is used to ship books to your child(ren). If we have trouble shipping books, we’ll use this information to contact you. This does not apply to schools purchasing Kids Read Now LitKits book bags.
We share aggregated demographic information with our research partners. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. This does not apply to schools purchasing Kids Read Now LitKits book bags.
We may partner with third-party research analyst services. We share anonymized information on books read, reading scores, and other demographics to determine the effectiveness of the Kids Read Now summer reading program, which is necessary for the third party to provide these services for efficacy purposes. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services. This does not apply to schools purchasing Kids Read Now LitKits book bags.
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. The general website kidsreadnow.org is not intended for student use. Our online book selection portal portal.kidsreadnow.org and mobile application (for the applicable comprehensive program), which may be student-facing, do not link to external sites, nor do they allow for third-party users. From time to time, we may send you emails and/or display requests for information on our site or in our mobile apps, such as surveys, contests, or requests to post pictures and activities.
