Discovery Questions

After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.

• The boy told a lie about the cookies. When have you told a lie? What happened? Write about it. Share your story with a parent.
• Think of another story where someone lies. How are they like the boy? How are they different? Talk about it with a parent.
• The boy feels guilty about telling the lie. Is guilt a good thing, or a bad thing? Discuss this with a parent.
• Pretend you are the boy. Write an "I'm sorry" note to your sister because you ate all the cookies. Share your note with a parent.
