Discovery Questions

After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.

• Elizabeth was not allowed to be rude or lie. When have you lied? Why did you do it? Talk about it with a parent.
• Elizabeth just wants to fit in at school. What other character in another story just wants to fit in? How are they like Elizabeth? How are they different? Talk about it with a parent.
• Elizabeth agreed to go to Cali's house. She couldn't back out of it because she got a better invitation. Why is it important to keep your word? Talk about it with a parent.
• Pretend you are Elizabeth or Cali. Organize the first meeting of the Club for Everybody. What do you do? Where do you go? Write about it. Share your writing with a parent.
