  • See if you can name five things that you can do, that a dog or cat can't. Share your list with a parent.
  • The family has two cats as pets. What other character in another story has a pet? How are they like the girl? How are they different? Talk about it with a parent.
  • One of the cats likes to sing at night. How do you think the neighbors feel about this? What if it was a dog instead of a cat? Talk about it with a parent.
  • How many creatures live in your house? See if you can sort them like the girl in the story does. Draw pictures. Share your pictures with a parent.
