Discovery Questions

After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.

  • How are frogs and toads different? Have a parent help. Research the differences. How are they alike? How are they different? Make a chart. Share your chart with your friends.
  • Frogs begin life as tadpoles. They transform into frogs. Can you think of another animal that completely changes as it matures? Compare that animal to a frog. Use a Venn diagram. Find five ways they are alike. Then find five differences. Share your diagram with a parent.
  • Some frogs are poisonous. How do the birds know this? Have a parent help. Research this.
  • Make up a story about a goliath frog. What does it eat? What is its day like. Draw and color the pictures. Share your story with a parent!
