  • Some people have a hard time making friends. Is it hard for you? Is it easy for you? Talk about it with a parent.
  • One giraffe speaks English. One giraffe speaks Spanish. It makes it harder for them to talk to each other. Think of another story where one person doesn't know what the other person is saying. How is that like the giraffes? How is it different? Talk about it with a parent.
  • The giraffes become friends. Why is it important to have friends? Talk about it with a parent.
  • At the end of the book the friends celebrate. What do you do to celebrate? Write a story about it. Share your story with a parent.
