After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.

• The black leopard wanted to attack Little Guy. Jack protected him. Have you helped an animal? Write a story about what you did. Or, write how you could help an animal. Share your story with a parent.
• Bu-Bu and Big Guy are different. But they are both gorillas. Use a Venn diagram to compare them. Show five ways they are alike. Then show five ways they are different.
• There are facts about gorillas after the story. Silverbacks eat 50 pounds of food a day. But then they move on. They move so they don't deplete the feeding area. What could they teach humans? Talk about this with a parent.
• Sign language helps some people communicate. With a parent research sign language. Learn how to sign your name. Learn how to sign simple phrases. Make a list of the things you can sign. Share this with your friends.
