Stink: Hamlet and Cheese
Spring break! Shakespeare camp? Oh no! Sword fighting? Swearing? Dying! This could be fun!
After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.
- Stink thought Shakespeare camp would be awful, but he had a good time. When have you thought something might not be fun, but it turned out to be great? Write about it. Share your story with a parent.
- Actors pretend to be someone different. Think of another story where someone pretends to be someone they are not. Use a Venn diagram. How are they like the actors in this book? How are they different? Share your diagram with a parent.
- Stink and Sophie like their teacher, Amanda Beth. Is it necessary for students to like their teachers? Why, or why not? Talk about it with a parent.
- At the end of Chapter 4 there are three columns of words that can be put together to form insults! Practice using them with your friends!
