Discovery Questions

After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.

  • When the children get to the circus they see the ice cream truck. The thought of ice cream makes them very happy. What makes you happy? Talk about it with a parent.
  • The circus is a fun place. Look at the pictures near the end of the story. Write five things that are fun to do at this circus. With a parent's help list five other things you can see at a circus.
  • As the children go to the circus they pass other cars and trucks. These cars and trucks have people in them the children don't know. All the people wave to each other. Why do people wave to other people they don't know? Is this a good thing? Discuss it with a parent.
  • The children see an airplane. Pretend you are on the airplane. Where are you going? Why? What do you do when you get there? Write the story. Share your story with a parent.
