Discovery Questions
The students in the third grade believed in ghosts. Do you? Why or why not? Discuss it with a parent.
Eddie and Melody break into Mrs. Jeepers’s basement. Think of another story where someone enters a house when they shouldn’t. Use a Venn diagram. List five ways the stories are alike. Then list five ways they are different.
Howie sprinkled garlic salt around the classroom not knowing Mrs. Jeepers was allergic to it. The children made Mrs. Deedee’s life so miserable that she quit her job. Both these things could have ruined the teachers’ lives. Why is this kind of behavior not good? What could have happened to the teachers? Talk about it with a parent.
Pretend you are a member of the third grade class that treats Mrs. Jeepers badly. Write a letter to her asking her to forgive you. Share your letter with a parent.
