Discovery Questions

The girl in the story thinks of Stewart and Winston as her brothers, even though they are very different. How are your brothers, sisters or friends the same or different from you? Write about it.
Why would the bigger boys throw eggs at Mr. Kodinski's shop? Who in another book has mean things done to them? Compare the two characters. Talk about it with an adult.
Mr. Kodinski does a very kind thing when he gives the children the hat. Why does he do it? Why does he tell the children they are "such good children?"
The town where the children live has people from all over the world living there. Write the story of another adventure they have in their town. Share it with an adult.
