Discovery Questions

  • Jack forgets he can't fly. Have you ever wanted to fly? Where would you fly to? Talk about it with an adult.
  • Jack is very lucky. He has a lot of people to take care of him. Think of another story where someone is taken care of. How are they like Jack? Use a Venn diagram. Find five ways they are alike. Then find five ways they are different. Share your diagram with an adult.
  • Emergency rooms are usually very crowded. People usually have to wait a long time before a doctor can see them. Is this okay, or is it bad? Discuss this with a parent.
  • Pretend you are Jack. Write a letter to one of the doctors thanking him or her for the care they gave you. Tell them why their care was important to you. Share your letter with a parent.
