  • The boy tells Elfie, "I'll always love you." Who do you tell that to? Do you say it every day? Talk about it with a parent.
  • There are many ways of expressing love. You can say it out loud. You can show it be being kind and thoughtful. Think of another story where someone shows their love by being kind and thoughtful. How are they like the boy. Use a Venn diagram. Find five ways the characters are alike. Then find five ways the characters are different. Share your diagram with a parent.
  • Why is it important to tell people and pets that you love them? Why is it important that you hear it? Talk about it with a parent.
  • Write a letter to someone you don't get to see very often. Tell them how much you love them, and why. Ask aa parent for help. Mail your letter to them.
