Mrs. Sneesby saw that Lola was afraid of something. She told Lola that Tom the Troll was a bully. She helped Lola be herself again. Think of another story you have read. Who in that story helped someone? How are they like Mrs. Sneesby? How are they different?
When Buddy moved to this neighborhood, he wanted a friend. The only way he got attention was to be unkind. Why do you think some people are unkind to others? Do they want attention? Is it best to ignore them or to give them different attention as Lola did? Talk about it.
Pretend you are Buddy. Write a thank-you letter to Lola. Thank her for being kind to him and for helping him make friends. Share your note with someone.
