Madeline

Madeline was not afraid of many things. How are you like, or different from Madeline? Talk about it with a parent or adult friend.
All the little girls in the boarding school dressed alike, and did very orderly things. What is another book you have read where children did things in a very orderly fashion? How are they similar, and how are they different?
This book was written a very long time ago, when having appendicitis was very dangerous. That is why Madeline needed to spend so long in the hospital, and why she had a large scar. Knowing that it was so dangerous, why did all the other girls want to have their appendix out too? Talk about it with a parent or other adult friend.
Madeline was the smallest and naughtiest of the little girls. Write another story about a character like Madeline who gets into trouble. Don't forget to draw pictures, and color them.
