Black Hawk tried to hunt buffalo on his own. He disobeyed his grandmother. When did you disobey a parent? Write about what happened. Share your story with a friend.
Grandmother brags that the Lakota never kill more buffalo than they need. Think of another story where someone takes MUCH MORE then they need. Use a Venn diagram. How are they like the Lakota? How are they different? Share your diagram with a parent.
White men were hoping to ruin the Lakota people by killing all the bison. The bison nearly became extinct. Why would this have been a tragedy? Talk about it with a parent.
Have a parent help you research. Draw a picture of a buffalo, or bison. Label all the parts the Lakota used. Tell what each of the parts were used for.
