Lizzie and Charles want to keep Goldie, but instead help Goldie find a home with Sammy’s family. When have you helped a friend get something you really wanted? Write a story about it.
What is another story where the main character or main characters help another person get something the main character really wants? How are the stories alike or not alike? Use the Venn diagram, or draw one on the back, to show the similarities and differences.
Lizzie, Charles and Sammy spend a lot of time helping to train Goldie. How much time is necessary to train a puppy to obey commands and be housebroken? Write a story (real or fictional) about when you housebroke a puppy.
Write a different ending to the story, and then read it to your family or friends.
