A story of how a young vagabond gets an old lady to feed him by making soup from a stone but it turns out to be much more!

The young man makes soup with a stone. Have you ever created food with a parent? Did you use a recipe? Did you make it up on your own? What kind of food was it? How did you help?
The young man tricks the old lady into using her vegetables to make the soup. Think of another story. Does someone else trick another person? How are they like the young man? How are they different? Draw a Venn Diagram. Share with an adult.
The old lady gets her vegetables from her garden. What kinds of food can be grown in a garden? With a parent research where different foods grow. How do people around the world get their food?
Create your own recipe for stone soup. What would you add? What would you leave out? Draw pictures to go with your recipe. Have an adult help make your recipe.
