Louis' disability caused him to excel in other ways. What character in another book took his or her disability and turned it into a strength? Compare these two characters using a Venn diagram. Find five ways they are alike. Then find five ways they are different.
For most of the story, Louis was obsessed with repaying the storekeeper for his trumpet. Why, as a bird, was he so concerned with this? Discuss this with a parent or other adult friend.
