Discovery Questions
When you wake up in the morning, can you see the stars? Where do you think they go during the day? Why can’t we see all of them with our eyes? Tell your adult what you think. What do they think about why the stars go away during the day?
Have you heard the song “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”? Listen to or sing this song with your adult. How are the words the same or different from this story?
Did you know the sun is a star? Did you know that other stars have names? With your adult, look up other stars that we might be able to see with our eyes at night and what they might be named. See if you can find them in the night sky!
Have you noticed how the days change with the seasons? Why does the sun stay in the sky for longer or shorter times? Draw a picture of your favorite day when the sun was in the sky for a long time. Why is it your favorite day? Tell your adult about your picture.
