Have you ever felt like a “Wild Thing?” Write a story about it. How was your experience the same or different from Max’s?
What is another story you have read where the main character misbehaves and is punished, but the punishment isn’t really a punishment? List five ways the situations are the same and five ways they are different.
What does Max learn when he is King of the Wild Things? How do you know this? Why does Max feel that way?
If you were Max, draw a picture of the wild creatures you would find. Give them names, and tell how they are wild.
