Kristen welcomed participants to a meeting focused on supporting caregivers in enhancing children's reading skills, particularly in second and third grades. She highlighted the importance of engaging caregivers through monthly training sessions and mentioned the success of the Kids Read Now book program for summer reading. Kimberly Chase then took over to discuss the role of caregivers in reading development and the importance of building their capacity to support reading and vocabulary growth outside of school. The session aimed to help participants deepen their understanding of caregiver involvement, identify key out-of-school reading behaviors, and plan for implementation in their settings.
