There are two rules when it comes to baby dragons: 1. Don't let them out of the bag, 2. Whatever you do, don't feed them anything sweet! And Jaxon has already broken both rules!

After your child receives and reads this book, Discuss one or more of the following questions to help him/her make connections and build comprehension.

• According to Ma, raising children is the hardest job in the world. What do you think is the hardest job in the world? Why? Talk about it with a parent.
• Jax says that Ma doesn't look like the witches on TV. Think of another story with a witch in it. Use a Venn diagram. How is that witch like Ma? How are they different? Share your diagram with a parent.
• L. Roy wants magic in our world. Ma wants magic to stay in its own world. Should magic be segregated? What could happen if magic entered world? Talk about it with a parent.
• At the end of the book one of the dragons is still in Brooklyn. Write the story of what its life is like if it never leaves New York. Don't forget to draw and color the pictures. Share your story with a parent!
